Jpm Silver Ghost

We never thought we would see this beauty from Jpm emulated but here we go. One of the nicest feelings when roms to a classic machine we never thought would be emulated turn up. Thank you so much Riche 100 who achieved mission impossible by discovering a Silver Ghost and then kindly provided the roms. Very grateful to you. Thanks to Wizard for sorting all the 7segs, meters and some coin input tweaks on the Silverreels classic I did, which was used as a base for this release.

Wonderful machine by jpm. I very much remember branches of Nobles having rows of 4 or 5 of these and them all being played. Attractive glass design with the need for few bulbs, great gameplay, and good sounds going up a pitch fore each win obtained up the scale. So simple but so clever. I always thought these were an original base machine but they were in fact a rebuild on Supa Steppas and Bar 7.  That feeling when two bars come on the first twp reels and that third one comes. Sometimes you could get a right run of 50p wins on. I remember as a kid when down to my last 20p or something, normally played 2p ers but I would put last bit into a Silver Ghost praying for a win then if I got 50p or more! would go back to Win A Gain or something similar and play for ages. This does like to drop 3 x 7's in from time to time aswell. Whoever wrote this game should be extremely proud of themselves. A simple machine, very entertaining, decent wins for player, and decent profits for the operator.

Hope you enjoy   Alex

Free Bee mpu4 machine

Hi.
Seen this on eBay a week or so ago
and was lucky enough to win the auction.
I think it's a BWB version/clone
of a Barcrest Blue Moon and is on
20p/£6 tokens jackpot.
It was sold as spares or repairs as it
has a crack in the top glass.
Just been informed by the seller, the courier has now picked this up.
So hopefully soon it should arrive here.
Does anyone have any background info
on this machine and if it actually
plays like a Blue Moon?
Would like to think if glasses came
along,I could back convert it if the ROMS are the same as well.

Tales from Midibob's workshop MPU2

Well it was only a matter of time before I completed the historical Barcrest trail.

At first looks MPU2 and 1 are identical except for the addittion of an extra lamp, switch and replay indicator connector.

P1030771 (Custom).jpeg

P1030768 (Custom).jpeg

The bit that interested me was the ROM cart.

P1030762.JPG P1030763.JPG

I've loaded these in high res so the detail is intact.

The ROMs are now MB8516 which could be 2716's although don't quote me on that.

Also, and of more interest, there is a space for a battery with what must be a RAM chip TIPH6563 ?? I haven't looked this up yet so can't confirm.

The other ROM chip is a Fairchild 32000 which I haven't been able to find either so what sort of code is hidden there is anyone's guess. Perhaps the first CHR chip?

Moving on to the main board, of the two I have here the PIA chips on one are 6820's (same as MPU1) but the other are all labelled Fairchild SL32045. There's nothing on Google with this number but they must be 6820's.

So next job is to document the extra connector's wiring and the ROM cart. After that it's down to business to find out if they boot or not.

Never a dull moment in the workshop!

JPM Impact Valuation

Could you guys give me an idea what this Collsium JPM impact fruit machine is worth?

Ive had the processor board rebuilt with the battery now on a spur off the board.

I've also got a spare mother board.

This machine does work. Although the correct fitting hi low reel (reel 4) does not intilize. If I plug in another reel the machine work. Unfortunately the working reel 4 does not fit the machine.

I'm interested to know what it's worth now or shall I carry on throwing money at it ?74ae40e66245b45ca3c6a2d9f66f15e4.jpg542deced63a4bd0f7665e04da5841469.jpgc0aeb6e2e67baa297a3f688ffdcf925c.jpg380316f9f773d40b1e7f1b02f18e987c.jpgc68db5e03235281fc914d32e82e43cbf.jpg3b6a5c959aa860b27e650f358000bc55.jpgc23eefc93eb31c8d80b817a28ee6e93f.jpg

Not Fruit Machine, but relevent to the Hobby.

Got this sorted today, just in time for some Father's Day Gaming with my daughter.
Showing her what real gaming is like.

Unfortunately had to remove the CRT as I could not find anyone or the spares to fix it. LCD added and rewired the JAMMA connections to suit a Pandora's Box 4+d2ae0ba3d5c14a67b699456dd6929259.jpgf407cb27514b0ac0610c9699a3c4043e.jpgfc7d643e37cc43843cb080216b90e47f.jpg

Heartbreak hotel Renovation

Global used to make some decent club machines however the infamous Heartbreak hotel I don't recall ever being one of them!

I picked up one a few weeks ago and I'm going to renovate it and keep for a while purely for Nostalgia... (I like them looking good!) It's semi broken down now so pics to follow on.

Im interested to see if anyone has any information and remembers anything about it including any different versions... software updates (because it played badly) cabinet type and any thoughts on Global's Stealth mpu tech? This one has yellow frames and is running version 1.8... I remember older versions being Green in the wild?

Super Line Up

Hi Everyone
I have recently put the 50p coin mech in my super line up as it was missing when I bought it but when I put 50p in it gives me a pounds worth of change instead of 5 credits.
Obviously it has had a £1 mech in there in the past I just want to know is this easy to change back to 5 credits as it should be?
Cheers
Darren

Contact Cleaner...

$

I've got two jobs coming up very shortly that I need to buy some contact cleaner for, but I haven't got the foggiest which ones are out there, or which is the better.

The two jobs:

1) Cleaning a cross-fader (slider) on a DJ mixer

2) Cleaning electrical contacts on my car (MAF sensor / BSI connections)

For the mixer part, whatever I use is going to have to do two things

 i) Blow out any existing dust / crud

ii) Lubricate the internals

There's HOWTO videos on how to take the sliders apart, but I don't want to resort to that if I can help it (I have no track record, and no spares if I f*@! it up)

The car, I'm not that fussed about.

Anyone got any good advice on which cleaners would be the best for either / both jobs ... ?

MPU2 test rig

Hi chaps,

I'm on the scrounge. :)

I need some AMP Combo 15 way female sockets (same as MPU3), at least 7, and a bit more difficult a 7 way female.

It doesn't matter if they don't have crimps in or are cut off of a loom as I'm going to rewire them anyway.

I know the 7 way is going to be a problem as that was only used on MPU1 and 2 PSU's.

Still you never know.

Thanks

Bob
