Had a couple of these to look at so I thought I'd have a break from motherboards.
This one had burnt out ic's and the tant caps had blown apart, it also had a charred board and some of the tracks to the PCB connector fingers had vaporised.
First thing was to remove all the damaged stuff and scrape out the carbonised track..
Repair the damaged tracks and fill the scraped out board with epoxy. A bit of solder mask to finish off.
Add the missing components, the tant caps will follow when I get them but for testing purposes it works fine without them.
The second board had also blown the tant caps and the ic's but not violently as the first board so there was no track damage.
The next thing was to be able to test them without a machine......
