Maygay error "Not installed"

Hi all.

I recieved a dead maygay based slot machine the other day.

I don't know mutch about fruit machines, but I have worked on enought retro computers to know what "It worked when I put it in storage a few years ago, but now it's just dead" means.

So I removed the Epoch mpu board and yes there was some battery acid problems, but not that terrible. Did a quick clean up and voila it came back to light.

It still does not work and here is what happens:

Power on:

- Decor lights start blinking.

- Rom check is displayed (counting down).

- All reels spin (both bottom and top one)

- Machine name is displayed

- Error message: "NOT INSTALLED" is displayed.

The MPU leds show correct operation:

- Status/Security led blinks

- All other (except V.Display) steady on.

Opening the door resets the machine, but same error. Not very informative.

All daughter boards blinks green, except the note acceptor cards, they are steady red.

If I try to disconnect any cards It gets an alarm with the right error message at once.

So what is "not installed"?

I noticed two things.

The coin door switch is damaged and has some loose wires, but I would expect this to cause a "door open" alarm?

Also the "Offline door monitor" board (I can't remember if thats the exact name, but something similar) has a defective battery on it, but I don't know if this matters?

Any help would be appriciated.

Note: I have a new Epoch card on it's way in the mail, as well as a PSU (got lucky online), but this might be something else?

Does anyone have a schematics for an maygay system that shows how the door is supposed to be wired?

Just realised that this was in the wrong thread, sorry about that, feel free to move it over to help!
